The Steipler's Hat
With love for every Jew – every son and daughter of the King

Today I'm going to Bnei Brak – to the Steipler's home!
As a young man, Rabbi Yoram used to travel to visit rabbis and tzaddikim.

Shalom aleichem, Rebbe!
Aleichem shalom, my son. Sit down.
A simple home, full of books from floor to ceiling. Here lived Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky zt"l – "the Steipler".

How did you merit such a great son?
A guest, a Torah scholar, asked the Steipler about his son – Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky zt"l, who knew the whole Torah by heart.

Do you see this hat?
The Steipler took the hat off his head.

Every night I fill this hat with tears – that my Chaimke will never stray from Hashem's path!
Every night after midnight, the Steipler said the whole book of Tehillim and prayed with tears for his son.

My parents pray for me too – all the time!
And this was when Rabbi Chaim was already over fifty! Yoram left the house deep in thought.
